The experience behind the tools

I was already dealing with an intellectual-property dispute with IBM when Hurricane Helene hit. A tree fell on my house. Suddenly, I was trying to deal with damage to my home while I was still working through a legal dispute.
From my perspective, the insurance company's response amounted to a denial of the help I needed to recover. I had to work through the damage, the claim, and the records supporting it.
Those experiences are why I built PAi Claims and PAi Legal. I needed a way to organize the material, follow the connections between documents, and prepare the next step. I built these products out of need.
I wanted the tools I needed to be useful to other people facing the same kind of work.
Through The New Faith Church and Co-op, that work supports a broader mission: helping people document what happened, understand the questions they need to ask, and move forward after a disaster.

Our disaster-recovery work is for people affected by hurricanes, floods, fires, and other disasters, including those organizing an insurance claim or handling related legal records themselves.
We aim to make useful technology and information easier to access when money, time, and attention are already stretched.
PAi Claims offers a choice of local AI or an external AI provider during setup. The privacy policy explains local storage and optional external services.

PAi Claims and PAi Legal are presented as part of The New Faith Church and Co-op, Inc. (NFCcop)’s disaster-recovery work. No software sales or donations have been received yet. Development and setup have incurred costs; see our funding and transparency page for the current status.

PAi Claims is free to download and set up. A required $20 payment starts your first claim. Existing claims remain available to work on and export without another payment.
PAi Legal is free to download, and the first case is free. Payment is required to start additional cases. Existing cases remain available to work on and export without another payment.

Voluntary donations are separate from required software payments and provide no additional software benefits. If you cannot afford the software, contact us to request free access.
